We'd rather you trust the deal than wrestle with you over a refund. This is the plain-English version of what happens if you change your mind, if we drop the ball, or if you just want to walk away.
If you change your mind within 14 days of paying your $197 down payment, email us and we'll refund the full $197. No survey. No retention pitch. The site stays online for the remainder of the 14-day window so you can show it to anyone who might disagree with your decision — then we take it down and the deal closes.
The $197 down payment becomes non-refundable. You keep your site. If you're on a financing plan, you can cancel any future scheduled monthly payment up until 24 hours before it processes — we just take the site offline and hand off the code. No further charges, no collections, no credit hit. You walk away with whatever you've already paid for.
Standard delivery is 72 hours from completed payment. If we're going to miss it for any reason — pipeline issue on our end, holiday, anything — we'll email you BEFORE the 72-hour mark with a revised ETA. If you don't accept the revised ETA, you get a full refund regardless of how many days have passed. This rule overrides the 14-day window.
One-time add-ons that have already been implemented (booking widget set up, SEO foundation deployed, etc.) are non-refundable since the work is done. One-time add-ons that haven't started yet are fully refundable on request. Recurring services (hosting at $25/mo, AI assistant, monthly content updates) can be cancelled at any time and stop billing the next cycle — we don't pro-rate the current month.
If you cancel hosting, your site goes offline within 24 hours. You keep the full source code and we'll hand off the Git repository on request. You can re-host with us anytime by resubscribing, or take it to another provider — your code is yours, no lock-in.
Email hello@buildwhatyouwant.com with the subject "Refund — [your business name]". Include the email you paid with so we can match the transaction. Refunds process back to the original card within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. You'll get a confirmation email the moment we initiate the refund on our end.
Before opening a chargeback with your bank, please email us. We resolve almost everything within one business day, and chargebacks cost both of us money and trust. If you've reached out and we haven't responded within 48 hours, we accept that's on us and you should do what you need to do.
